Biopesticides
Biopesticides, used to replace chemical pesticides, have active ingredients that come from natural materials like animals, plants, bacteria, and certain minerals. Unlike synthetic chemical pesticides, the microorganisms/substances in biopesticides works slowly. However, they do not harm natural enemies and the environment while providing effective control of specific target pests, e.g., weeds, insects, diseases, etc. The active ingredients of biopesticides can be microbial (e.g., bacterium in Bacillus thuringiensis) or plant substances that control pests (e.g., neem).
